ABOUT US

My name is Jennifer Taylor and long before Taylored Dachshunds ever existed, my life was deeply rooted in rescue.
I spent years working alongside one of the highest-intake animal shelters in the country, where I volunteered daily to help dogs that had been abandoned, neglected, or simply had nowhere else to go. My role quickly grew beyond volunteering—I became part of the effort to help build a rescue network that connected dogs with rescues and adopters across the United States.

My home became a place of transition and healing. I fostered countless dogs, including seniors, medical cases, and vulnerable neonates that needed intensive care before they could safely move on to rescue placement. I worked closely with transporters and rescue organizations, helping ensure these dogs had a chance at the lives they deserved.
Those years shaped me profoundly. They taught me responsibility, compassion, and the lifelong commitment that comes with caring for a dog. Over time, my path expanded into preservation breeding—not as a departure from those values, but as a continuation of them.

Taylored Dachshunds was founded with a deep respect for the breed and a commitment to preserving the structure, temperament, and health that make these dogs so extraordinary. Every pairing is carefully planned, supported by my background in mathematics, statistics, and biology with thoughtful consideration given to lineage, temperament, and long-term wellbeing. My dogs live in my home as family members, and every puppy is raised with intention, care, and early socialization.
I remain committed to every dog I bring into this world, and to the families who welcome them into their homes. That responsibility does not end when a puppy leaves—it is lifelong.

My experience in rescue taught me what dogs need most: stability, advocacy, and people who are willing to stand behind them completely. That belief continues to guide everything I do today.
At the heart of Taylored Dachshunds is a simple promise: every dog is bred, raised, and placed with purpose, integrity, and unwavering care.
